It’s perfect for a quick family outing, especially if you're after something a bit different but don’t fancy leaving the city. Just a mile from Parliament and two miles from Buckingham Palace, this small farm offers a countryside feel right in the heart of London. My little ones love this place! There’s a variety of animals including alpacas, goats, chickens, rabbits, and even turkeys, and the best bit—it’s free entry! We do like to make a donation and grab some animal feed (available for purchase) so the kids can get involved with feeding the goats and alpacas. All the animals are quite gentle and friendly, which makes it a real treat for the little ones. Though the farm is small, it’s packed with excitement. It can get busy, but with a bit of patience, you can still enjoy the experience. Plus, there’s a handy café on-site for grabbing a quick drink or bite to eat, and a buggy park, which is super convenient if you’ve got a toddler in tow like we usually do. On our last visit, my toddler had a bit of a meltdown in the café, but a lovely staff member went above and beyond to help distract him. Moments like these make such a difference to parents—big shoutout to the staff at Vauxhall City Farm for being so kind and understanding! If you’re in the area, particularly near Vauxhall station, it’s well worth a visit. Whether it’s seeing the baby goats or just relaxing in the farm’s peaceful atmosphere, it’s a great spot to enjoy some time with the kids. Smarty parenting at its finest, especially with the fact that it’s free of charge! A little hidden gem that makes family time in London affordable and fun. Don't forget to wash your hands after feeding the animals, and be aware there’s no dedicated parking—just street parking nearby. But with the farm so centrally located, it’s easy to hop on the tube to Vauxhall and stroll right in. Vauxhall City Farm is definitely one of the best free family-friendly spots in London, offering the perfect balance of smart family activities that are educational and fun.
