Overview
If you’re ever in North West London, specifically around the London Borough of Brent, then you’ve got to check out Queen’s Park Playground. It’s an absolute gem for families, and as a parent, I can’t recommend it enough for a day out with the kids.
This park has everything you need for a perfect family outing. For older kids, there’s a huge range of exciting climbing frames and zip lines to keep them busy, while the little ones have a brilliant sand area and newly refurbished toddler section (as of 2024). The park has really thought about all ages, making it one of the best free places for kids in London. Plus, when summer rolls around, there’s a large paddling pool to look forward to – perfect for those sunny days we wait all year for!
The play area is big enough to accommodate kids from about 2 all the way up to 14 years old, so whether you've got a toddler or a pre-teen, everyone’s bound to have a blast. The variety of equipment is impressive – zip lines, climbing frames, and plenty of swings – so there’s never a dull moment. And for parents, there’s plenty of space to sit and relax while the children run off all their energy.
One of the standout features for me was the sandy area designed specifically for toddlers. It’s ideal for little ones to play, socialise, and enjoy their own space without getting knocked over by older kids. My toddler had a great time, and it’s definitely one of those hidden gems for family activities in London that you don’t want to miss.
The park is beautifully maintained, and the London Borough of Brent should be really proud of this space. It’s one of those places where you see families from all over enjoying the day, and it just has a lovely, community feel. So if you’re on the lookout for free family-friendly parks in London, add Queen’s Park Playground to your list – it’s a smart choice for a fun, budget-friendly day out with the kids!
