Elephant Park playground in Elephant and Castle
Elephant Park is such a lovely little spot for families, right in the heart of London! It’s a small but charming green space that offers plenty for kids to enjoy. My little ones had an amazing time, especially since the weather was so warm—it wasn’t too crowded either, which made it even more relaxing.
The water and sand play areas were a huge hit with the kids, keeping them entertained for ages. The park is beautifully landscaped, and the standout feature has to be the Tree House in the centre. It’s a fantastic space for the community, and the terrace overlooking the trees is perfect for a quiet moment to yourself while the kids play.
One thing I really appreciated was how clean and well-maintained everything is, especially the public toilets—it’s such a rare find in London, and I hope everyone helps keep them that way! There’s even a special foot-washing sink, which was a lifesaver after all that sand and water play.
The seating here is brilliant too, with plenty of spots to relax or enjoy a picnic. And if you fancy a bite to eat, there are loads of cafés, restaurants, and shops nearby. The atmosphere feels like a little oasis—it’s so peaceful, almost like being in the Mediterranean.
We loved how family-friendly the park is, with spaces that cater to all ages and a diverse, welcoming vibe. It’s a wonderful place to slow down, enjoy the fresh air, and let the kids run wild. If you’re near Waterloo or London Bridge, I’d definitely recommend taking a stroll to Elephant Park—you won’t be disappointed!
