    Overview

If you're looking for a brilliant playground in central London, Anne Keane Playground in Dickens Square, Southwark, is a fantastic option for kids of all ages. My 2-year-old was over the moon, and I must say, I loved it too! It's a bit like Burgess Park but much more compact, and the soft-fall surfacing throughout is a wonderful feature that gives you peace of mind while the kids run around. What’s great is that the playground is fully gated, so it's a safe, enclosed space where little ones can explore to their heart’s content. The benches dotted around the playground offer plenty of spots for us parents to relax while keeping an eye on the kids. For toddlers, there’s an adorable elephant-shaped slide, along with cute wooden sculptures of sheep and another elephant that the kids can climb on – a lovely touch! The little ones will also enjoy the baby swings and the soft surfacing underfoot. For bigger children, there’s a massive wooden climbing structure complete with rope nets and an exciting large slide perched up a hill. They’ll love the variety of activities, from balancing logs to merry-go-rounds and ape-bridges, making it perfect for those looking for an adventure. The swings are also a hit, with sets for both toddlers and older children. One of the best things about this playground is that it’s surrounded by big, shady trees, providing a refreshing atmosphere even on hot days. My little one had hours of fun here, and I can’t recommend this spot enough. If you're in central London, particularly around Southwark, it’s well worth a visit! Make sure to check it out if you're after a smart family activity in London. This playground ticks all the boxes for a free day out with the kids.
