Coram’s Fields Playground
If you’re around Bloomsbury in London with the kids, you’ve got to check out Coram’s Fields. We took the little ones there recently, and it’s just brilliant. The park’s been around since 1936, and it’s still going strong as a proper haven for kids. What’s really great is that no adult can get in without a child, so it’s super safe and completely focused on the kids. And yes, it’s completely free.
There’s so much for them to do. My two had a blast digging in the massive sandpits—they’re open all year, which is handy. When the weather’s nice, the paddling pool is perfect for cooling off. And the zip wire? Well, that’s just non-stop fun; they couldn’t get enough of it! If your kids are into animals, there’s a little pet’s corner too, with rabbits, goats, and a few other critters. Mine loved it.
It’s not just for the little ones, either. There’s plenty to keep older kids busy, with sports pitches and loads of space to run around. The whole park’s massive, about seven acres, so even when it’s busy, it doesn’t feel crowded.
It’s a non-smoking, alcohol-free place, which I really appreciate, and they’re quite strict about no dogs unless it’s a guide dog, which keeps it nice and clean. Plus, there’s a café on-site if you need to grab a coffee or a bite while the kids play.
All in all, Coram’s Fields is one of those places where you can let the kids run wild while you sit back and relax. It’s definitely worth a visit!
