St Luke’s Playground in Cale Street, Kensington
We recently visited St Luke’s Playground in Kensington, London, and it’s quickly become one of our favourites! The playground is well-suited for kids under 12, with a brilliant range of equipment – everything from climbing frames and swings to roundabouts that kept my little ones entertained for hours. The area is really vibrant, and there’s even an enclosed pitch where older kids were having a kickabout, which was great to see. The whole place feels well-maintained, with two clean WC facilities and plenty of benches for us parents to relax.
There’s a lovely cafe next to St. Luke’s Church, perfect for grabbing a coffee while the kids play. I was also impressed by the floodlit football and tennis courts right by the playground – ideal for older kids and teens, especially in the evenings.
Even on a busy day, it’s a spacious spot without the hassle of sand, so no soggy shoes when it’s wet. The small park next door is well worth a stroll too, offering a peaceful break from the busier playground area.
Overall, it’s a fantastic, clean, and safe space that’s clearly loved by locals. We’ll definitely be back, especially on sunny afternoons after school!
